Welcome to River City Sports & Social Club. Established in 2004 by current owner and operator, Sean Small, RCSSC prides itself in being the only sports and social club in the Richmond/Metropolitan area that offers the opportunity to meet several hundred new people in a single afternoon. Sean, a native of Richmond, saw a need for people from all parts of the city, Northside, Southside, West-End and surrounding counties to come together for socializing and fun. What started as a small program to give people the opportunity to have fun and feel like part of a social network has grown into an organization that draws over 5,000 participants from all over the city and the surrounding counties each year. Offering an excellent social experience at a fair price has always been the goal. We offer one venue for people to participate in the best sports and social league in town.
RCSSC creates year-round opportunities to play a variety of team sports and continue socializing after the games have ended, it's the perfect cocktail of sports and socializing. Local bar sponsors include Home Team Grill in the Fan, Gus' Bar and Grill, On The ROX, Buffalo Wild Wings (Short Pump location), and can vary to include other bar sponsors. The RCSSC calendar is also filled with social events such as happy hour kickoffs for each sport, league night at Flying Squirrels baseball games, and an annual Halloween party.
RCSSC is committed to giving back to the community. Our Annual "Festivus for the Rest of Us" Holiday Party raises hundreds of toys every year for Toys for Tots, and our Annual New Year Charity Football Event raises money for the local SPCA. We also partner with local charities for fundraisers. RCSSC makes use of various parks and recs for games, and cleans up / recycles trash after the games. The league donates equipment to youth programs throughout the city, and makes a continued effort to host additional fundraisers and create future sports tournament opportunities.
River City Sports & Social Club is designed for people who enjoy sports and love to socialize. Members are encouraged not to take winning or losing too seriously, and to remember that the camaraderie of the team and having fun together are more important than a win or a loss.
"Thanks for your overwhelming support of RCSSC and I hope to see you at the game."
